If we believe it is up to us to get saved, to be born again, then maintaining that status is also part of our responsibility. Somewhere along the line we will do battle with doubt and maybe even depression, because we plainly see our inability to keep the faith.
In other words, if it begins with us, then it is up to us to keep it going.

If it’s to be, it’s not up to me

It may look like it is all up to you, but that is because you are not looking behind the scenes.
